My postdoctoral research focuses on the remote degeneration of brain regions not affected by the lesion in post-stroke aphasia, and the possible impact of this degeneration on language recovery. My projects focus more specifically on the structural characteristics of the gray and white matter of non-injured brain areas: the language network of the right hemisphere and the left thalamus. I am also interested in the social aspects related to gender that have an impact on the prognosis of language recovery in people with aphasia following a stroke.
